Often portrayed as a hero, the Drug Sniffing Dog makes headlines daily. Sniffing their way to fame by putting the “bad guys” away. However, few people really know the dark, shady and tragic side of this story.
They hand pick dogs, usually Sheperds, from the finest and purest genetic stock. The dogs are purchased with taxpayer funds. The canines are then put through a rigorous and brutal gauntlet, in a boot camp known to insiders as “Stalag C.” They break the dogs’ spirit, and destroy their sense of identity.
When the dogs finally graduate, they are all introduced to cocaine. Yes, gradually at first, but always the dose increases, until even the Milk BonesTM are laced with the pure white powder. When the dogs are all hooked to the point that they need an entire gram just to start out the day, they go on to the next phase: Active duty.
They start out with small busts at first, just to give the dogs a taste. By the time the Drug Sniffing Dogs move into the big time, say a slot with the D.E.A., they have been reduced to sniveling, quivering addicts. Snorting and sniffing like drug-crazed fiends, through kilo after kilo.
Once the Drug Sniffing Dogs burn out, they are turned loose. Penniless and homeless, without so much as a family to love, children to play with, or a bone to call their own. The hopelessly addicted dogs wander the streets: Sleeping in alley ways, urinating on cars; willing to sit up, lay down, roll over, heel, or even beg just for that sweet taste of one more fix.
Many people ask if a Drug Sniffing Dog can be rehabilitated. The answer is simple: Nobody really knows.
It is going to take a large, concerted effort on the part of all of us to stop this cruelty. Please, do your part today to help these dogs. Take them into your homes. Show them that living clean and sober can bring just as much joy as being strung out for a week on cocaine.
Ultimately, some of these ex-drug dogs may even find a new high in God. Imagine your sense of joy, as your Drug Sniffing Dog rediscovers himself, and the simple joys of chasing balls, bird hunting, scratching, butt sniffing, and simply laying on the floor at someone’s feet.

The Truth
This is all bullshit!
This article is meant to be a satire one, but in my opinion, this cuts too close to misinforming people. It is not funny at all and totally false.(Satirical humor should have some element of truth in it to qualify as one) What happens if someone gullible actually think this is real? Let’s destroy this lie step by step!
Firstly, the dogs are not put into any kind of boot camp called “Stalag C”(or whatever names that Mike Todd came out with his demented mind) nor is there any “brutal” training conducted that breaks the dog’s spirit and their sense of identity. Indeed, it does not make sense, since a dog with a broken spirit will be of no use to anyone so why would the K9 trainers do that?
Then, the dogs are NEVER fed drugs like cocaine! The dogs are trained not to locate drugs like cocaine by ingesting them. Instead, the prime motivation for them to locate the drugs is UNTAINTED treats or praise by its trainers since they are trained to associate the smell of the drug to treats. The idea that the dogs are fed drugs in order to locate them is totally RUBBISH. Dogs are also used for rescue missions like finding people trapped in debris and stuff. So are they fed human meat to find humans? Also, eating one gram of cocaine everyday(as suggested by Mike Todd) will cause the dogs to die. Just ask any vet about it. How can anyone believe that this is true?
Next, the comment about how the dogs are reduced to “sniveling, quivering addicts. Snorting and sniffing like drug-crazed fiends, through kilo after kilo” is totally disrespectful of police officers, the K9 division, SPCA and the dogs themselves. Not only are the dogs healthy and fit, they are also very well treated by their trainers. What a load of CRAP this guy is throwing at us!
Finally about the retirement of the K9 dogs, they are not turned loose to the streets after their tenure. These noble dogs are brought home with the handler and their family and lives with them. To be a handler in the first place, you must love dogs. It is incomprehensible that the handlers will leave them to roam the streets homeless and hungry, after working together for 8 to 10 years(Average lifespan of a dog is 10 to 12 years). The dogs are well loved and treated nicely by the handlers!
Make every day a “Drug Dog Day.”? The only DDD I can see is a “Despicable Damned Dickhead” like yourself, Mike!

This is a very good example of the kind of rubbish that exists on the Internet. What does Mike Todd plan to achieve? This is neither satire nor is it true. In fact, this outright lie only serves to ignite our anger, cause public outrage and is extremely demeaning to our intellect. This will also cause animal rights organizations to condemn the K9 program. He must think that we are fools! (Yes, I am a dog lover, so I am very pissed!)
Please recommend this article to fellow dog lovers (in fact anyone) so that we will not be tricked by such bullshit and make sure that dogs are treated properly! In my opinion, Mike Todd is being very irresponsible for spreading sort nonsense! Let us not let these rubbish(I am sure there are more online, and I am going to destroy these lies) poison our minds!
